Expanding support program for Ukraine

MB-Holding together with its Ukrainian subsidiary Liktravy announced the expansion of its support program for Ukraine in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. The decision to expand the program was made following a visit to Ukraine by MB-Holding CEO Albert Ferstl, where he discussed support projects at meetings with the Minister of Health of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy, and local authorities in Zhytomyr Oblast, where the holding’s subsidiary, Liktravy, is located.

The main project of this program will be the support of the National Cancer Institute of Ukraine totaling about half a million euros, as well as the creation of a rehabilitation unit there, which was discussed at the meeting with the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko. The modern rehabilitation unit at the Cancer Institute will allow doctors to provide high-quality care to the Institute’s patients.

“We are pleased to respond to the National Cancer Institute’s urgent request for support. We clearly understand the importance of prevention and rehabilitation, as they are the key areas of herbal medicine, and want to honor the memory of Martin Wedel, who was an active Managing Partner for nearly 40 years and died of cancer in 2016. That is why this project is so important to us,” Mr. Ferstl said.

A joint project will be implemented with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food to support small farmers who grow medicinal herbs. MB-Holding has successful experience in implementing similar projects in other countries. The agreement on cooperation was reached at a meeting with Deputy Minister Markiyan Dmytrasevych.

The company plans to implement joint projects to develop educational and agricultural sectors of the region with the local authorities of Zhytomyr region.

Summing up his visit, Albert Ferstl said: “I admire the way Ukrainians continue to work and change their country for the better despite all the odds. I look forward to seeing the results of our fruitful cooperation with the local authorities of the Zhytomyr region and the Ministries of Health and Agrarian Policy.”

MB-Holding and PJSC “Liktravy” continue to operate in Ukraine and continuously support the country and its people on their way to overcome the Russian aggression.
