Start of the season in the Herb Garden

Visitors to the Martin Bauer Herb Garden can become acquainted with the many fascinating facets of herb cultivation and discover around 90 different species. The season opened at the beginning of April. Laid out and planted in 2004, the Herb Garden underlines the Group's commitment to the region.

The Martin Bauer Herb Garden opened its doors to the public again just in time for Easter, and invites all herb enthusiasts to enjoy an exciting adventure tour through the diversity of indigenous and foreign herbs. "The Herb Garden not only gives us a stimulating insight into the world of plants," explains Hedi Wedel, who initiated the garden together with Adolf Wendel. "It is also our way of passing the herb growing tradition and our acquired knowledge on to the people in the region." With easy wheelchair access, the garden is also open to disabled visitors, who can learn all about the herbs and medicinal plants as well. The garden, which covers an area measuring 1200 m², offers a means of discovering herbs and other plants with their remedial properties, which may be beneficial to stomach and intestines, liver and gall-bladder, blood vessels and the skin. A colourful selection of kitchen herbs and aromatic plants are presented in other areas. The garden is tended by specially trained Greuther Herbal Guides, who also offer one-hour garden tours. Furthermore, the monthly diary also includes a lecture, which is given free of charge. The Martin Bauer Herb Garden is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm. Admission is free.

Commitment as a way of life
The Martin Bauer Herb Garden is just one of very many projects with which the nature network® becomes actively involved for the benefit of the environment and the people of this world. In doing so, the Group always pursues a holistic approach. This means that, within the nature network®, Holistic Corporate Responsibility also includes more intensive support for controlled integrated cultivation within the framework of purchasing raw materials, for example, and a commitment to strict environmental protection directives. At the same time, the network assumes responsibility for its employees and business partners, and is involved in various social projects at regional and national level.
